12 Fun Repurposed Bakeware Projects

Repurposed Bakeware Projects that anyone can do

I know many of us can’t get out to the thrift stores these days, so I thought I would share some repurposed bakeware projects.

Because just maybe you have a few odds and ends of vintage bakeware lying around waiting to be repurposed into something.

Or just maybe you have boxes and boxes of vintage bakeware, hiding in your greenhouse turned treasure storage, that you don’t know what to do with.

Um, I think that might be me.

As long as I can remember I’ve had a love for vintage bakeware, and these repurposed bakeware projects are a lot of fun and pretty easy to do too.

I think the reason I love vintage bakeware so much is because it reminds me of my childhood.

My mother was, and still is, a baker.

And I was, and still am, a lover of eating baked goods.

Isn’t that just the perfect combo? lol.

Since the Christmas season just passed, I’m going to start with some repurposed bakeware Christmas projects.

And then maybe they’ll reciprocate with some baked goodies. Yes!

What did I put in mine?

Repurposed baking cream horns into angel Christmas ornaments

Baking Cream Home Angel Ornaments

These angels are one of my favorite ornament projects ever.

They’re pretty easy to make, and they’re great for using up bits and pieces of crafting odds and ends.

And even bits of jewelry too.

Whatever you have on hand really.

Repurposed tart tin and light reflector Christmas ornaments

Repurposed Tart Tin Flower Ornaments

I’ve repurposed tart tins in many ways over the years, but this is my favorite project using them so far.

These tart tin flower ornaments are so easy to make, and can be customized to any Christmas tree color theme.

The shiny silver works so nicely with pink, but in my world silver is a neutral and works with everything.

This is another good repruposed bakeware project for odds and ends.

I love decoupage, and music sheets are a natural when it comes to adding a fun element to these cookie cutter ornaments.

And who doesn’t love a little glitter?

The jute twine is a lovely way to hang these pretties on the tree.

Repurposed cookie press disk Christmas ornaments

Vintage Cookie Press Disk Ornaments

I’ve seen many vintage cookie press sets at thrift stores over the years, and I grab them whenever I see them.

Not for cookie making, but for another one of those projects that I think I might come up with someday.

And, lo and behold, sometimes some day actually arrives. lol.

And that’s it for Christmas side of the repurposed bakeware projects.

So far anyway.

There will be more in the future. You can be sure of that.

Now onto some other projects.

Valentine’s Day is coming and this wreath door decor thingy was so much fun to create.

No, your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you.

It’s double-sided, and reversible.

Repurposed cookie sheet chalkboard sign

Vintage Cookie Sheet Chalkboard

It’s pretty easy to take an old aluminum cookie sheet and turn it into a chalkboard.

Add a bow and some pearl beading, and it’s all dressed up to pretty much hang anywhere.

Who couldn’t use a chalkboard or two?

Repurposed bundt cake pans as tiers stand for craft room storage

Repurposed Bundt Cake Pan Tiered Stand

I lucked out when I found a tiered stand that needed a makeover. It was the perfect size for a couple of bundt cake pans that I had in my stash.

There’s just something about silver and hot pink that does it for me.

And the curlicue feet are adorable.

DIY map clock from repurposed spindles and baking pan

Decoupaged Baking Pan and Spindle Clock

This was a much awaited project that had been in the back of my mind for years.

Then one day, the perfect opportunity arose to get it done.

A round baking pan was the perfect thing to use for this repurposed spindles clock.

Repurposed muffin pans as drawer organizers

Repurposed Muffin Pan Drawer Organizers

Quite a few years ago I totally reorganized my craft studio, and this was one of the most popular projects.

I can never decide if I love organizing stuff more than messing stuff up. lol.

It really could go either way, depending on what day it is.

Faux Mosaic in Fluted Baking Pan

You wont’ believe what I used to create this faux mosaic tulip art.

Ever since I discovered it at the hardware store, it’s been one of my favorite things.

It’s so much fun to work with, and I have a lot of ideas for using it in more projects that I hope to get to some day.

Some day always seem to be so full. lol.

And last, but most definitely not least, is Owliver, my junk owl.

If you haven’t met Owliver before, this is him.

Underneath that lovely orange scarf is a baking pan that I used to create his body, and then a lot of bits and pieces are repurposed to make him come to life.

Owliver graces my front door every fall, as early as I can convincingly put him there, until it’s time to put up the Christmas decorations.

I adore him so much that when he’s not on the front door, he’s hanging on the wall outside of my craft room.

Some day I’ll have to make an Owlivia to keep him company.

And that’s it for my repurposed bakeware projects. There will be more in the future I’m sure.

I hope you found some project inspiration!

  1. Rebecca Payne says:

I love all of these projects.

  2. Love each and every one of these ideas! The square pans made into a gift box is my favorite. Loved hearing about how other people wrap things! When I was a kid, we used the Sunday comics for a bright, colorful wrapping. Tried to use it when my daughter was a kid and it definitely DID NOT go over well!! Lol! Thanks for the refresher course!!!!!

    1. Thanks Dona! The pan gift box is such an easy project too. I love the idea of comics as wrapping, and I do remember using them when I was a kid and my siblings and I bought little gifts for each other. All of us used it for the same reason as you did, it was bright and colorful. And then you could read the wrapping. lol.

  3. Tuula, you always come up with the coolest ideas for these. I can’t pick a favorite because I like every one of them. I’ve never seen your clever cookie press ornaments, love those too! Looking forward to seeing what you have in store for us this year. Happy New Year!
