A fun string art picture of a train, an aged heart pan with a lovely patina, an amber coloured decorative dish (I’m always looking for these shaped dishes to use in garden plate flowers), and a vintage egg beater.
This is the fourth that I’ve thrifted and I’ve never seen one like this before. I’m not sure what the original purpose of the round part in the middle is for… (to prevent splattering maybe).
The cat canister was so pretty and I can always use more storage in my craft room. The Wm Rogers silver plate dish has a lovely grape cluster edging.
Another fun string art picture… this one looks like a Mississippi riverboat. This one and the train would make a cute set for a little boy’s room.
I’ve found a few enamel plates recently and this red edged one looks ancient, but that’s what I love about it.
The medium sized aluminum jello mold is un-named so OK to use in a project, and the little green glass bottle will make a great centre for a garden plate flower.
The aluminum ladle is marked Chemagro, and inside it is a sweet little stained glass angel with a dangling heart that says follow your dreams.
John bargained down this Monet water lily picture for me from $10 to $5. I absolutely love it, but the frame colour definitely needs to be changed. This will find its way into the master bedroom eventually.
And now to my favourite find… maybe of all time.
An absolutely filthy vintage cast iron farmhouse kitchen sink. Isn’t she grand?!!!
And she didn’t cost me a grand. lol. She cost me $10! Yay!!!
The price was so right we didn’t even haggle. The guy who we bought her from said she’d been in the barn for years.
She’s a whopping 30″ wide, and now she’s mine!! All mine!!! All kajillion pounds of her.
This is what I felt like when I first saw her. I was happy dancing on the inside, but playing it w-a-a-a-y cool on the outside… until we started driving away, and then I was dancing in my seat. Whoo… hoo!
She cleaned up sooo nice.
She does show her age in a few places but that’s OK because so do I, and I’m not telling where those places are… for either of us. lol.
I’m tempted to redo my whole kitchen just for her.
But then she’d be a ten or twenty grand sink.
She does wear these flower baskets well, but I have other ideas for her that don’t include emptying my bank account.
A couple of these finds will make their way into my etsy shop in one form or another, but she is most definitely a keeper.
Have any finds left you happy dancing lately?
