Christmas is just a few days away. Yay! I finally got some half decent pics of my girly tree. This was no easy feat with the bad lighting in the living room and my kind of getting on in years camera.
I’m so lucky to have the living room tree to decorate to my heart’s content. John jokingly calls it the girly tree, and I’m perfectly happy with that.
I love having my own girly tree! 🙂
It has a pale pink Santa topper, vintage cookie disk ornaments with chandelier crystals, and handmade ballerina slippers.
It has vintage icicles, vintage ballerinas, and repurposed baking cone angels….
… crocheted snowflakes, and reverse decoupaged glass chandelier crystals…
… repurposed tart tin ornaments, vintage blow mold candy garlands, and hand made plastic canvas bird houses…
.. and skates.
The furry snowball looking garland is actually a faux rabbit fur scarf that I thrfited last winter for $1. It was about six feet long and four balls across. I cut between all the balls and ended up with a garland that is almost 25 feet long.
It’s one of my favourite things on the tree, and I’ve been looking for another one, or two or three, ever since.
It’s not perfect or fancy, and that’s ok with me because neither am I. Everything on my tree is either thrifted or made by me, except the lights. I added a few more things after I took the first pics, and I like to tinker throughout the season just for fun.
Because of our four feline friends we don’t hang much near the bottom, and there are only a few glass things on the tree… the vintage pink teardrops and the pearl dandies. Ornaments sometimes end up being used as kittie toys. lol. But who can blame them. So many dangly thingies. lol.
Thank you so much for reading. I appreciate it more than you know. I wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and all the best for the New Year… and until next time…
keep on keepin’ on!
