Happy Thursday friends, and welcome to another edition of What the Heck Is It?
So it turns out that last week’s mystery item is a vintage silver plated cosmetic powder container.
After reading the comments I googled it and, while I didn’t find an exact match, I did see some that were similar.
It’s missing the glass insert that would have held the powder and the puff, so now I’m on the hunt for something that will fit.
This could be repurposed in so many ways, and I’m so happy to have it.
Thanks so much for your comments. 🙂
This week’s the Heck is a little different because I know what it is, but I don’t know anymore than that.
John and I found it at a garage sale that we stopped at on a whim on the way up to my mother’s cottage years ago. I think it was $2, if I’m remembering correctly.
This chess set was so charming I simply couldn’t resist it.
I fell in love with these colourful hand painted characters.
Some of the pieces have severe paint loss.
But that doesn’t matter to me. I love them anyway.
They have no markings on them to tell me where they were made, and they all have felt bottoms.
I know absolutely nothing about this chess set, but I think I might have to display it in my kitchen when its aqua and red makeover is done. The colours will go so perfectly! 🙂
What the Heck Is It? Any thoughts?
Thanks so much for reading and until next time…
keep on keepin’ on!
