Have you started decorating for fall yet? One of the easiest ways to celebrate the changing of the seasons is to make some fun fall door decor.
Even though it’s my favourite time of year I have to admit that I don’t do a lot of fall decorating. The truth is I spend much of my time outside in the fall, enjoying the cooler days working in the garden … and the gorgeous colours of course.
But I do love having something different on my font door each fall, so I decided to challenge myself to see if I could put together some fun fall door decor in about 15 minutes… just using my own stashes.
Sometimes the quickest projects come from just grabbing supplies that you already have, and throwing something together lickety split.

I started with this rustic chicken wire frame that I put together a few Christmases ago for my framed vintage ornament tree, a lovely orange scarf that I made into a faux pumpkinseed wreath a few falls ago, and a plastic weaving frame that’s about 10″ across.
I love to make things that I can take apart so I can use them again in different ways.
The plastic pegs made it easy to attach the scarf by simply hooking it on.
Then I just started wrapping the scarf around the frame.
That took just about a minute, and here it is all done.
This $1 thrifted scarf is really beautiful.
I used some fishing line, because it’s invisible, to attach the wreath to the chicken wire.
I’ve always loved scarecrows and I thrifted this fun fall piece last year.
It was the perfect size to fit on the wreath.
I poked some fishing line through the wire at the back that’s holding the bale of hay in place and tied that around the chicken wire, and it sits on top of the scarf covered plastic pegs. I also tied the arms in place a the top of the wreath.
The one scarecrow looked a little lonely so I added two little ones.
I also used scarecrows in this quick and easy fall wreath.
Now I have some fun fall door decor to celebrate my favourite time of year, and it only took about 15 minutes.
Repurposing scarves is a very easy way to make a wreath, and you can use anything round that you have on hand to wrap them around.
Depending on the colour you use you can easily make quick and easy wreaths for any season or holiday.
So check out your own stashes and see what you might have from years gone by, and put pieces together in a new way. You must might be surprised by what you can come up with. The trick is to not to think about it too much, and just go for it. 🙂
Don’t forget to pin it.
