Thanks so much for visiting Color Me Thrifty. I’m Tuula, and I’m so happy you’re here.
I love a great bargain, and I’m passionate about reusing, repurposing, and reimagining second hand things that I find. Saving money and helping the planet at the same time is a big win-win.
My favorite places to shop are thrift stores, garage sales, flea markets, and even roadsides.
I started my blog in 2012 to share both my love of thrifting as an adult (I have been accused of being one on occasion), and of DIY, decorating, and crafting, but now with the fearlessness that I had with my crayons as a child.
Do you remember the joyous creative freedom you felt when coloring as a child? That wonderful feeling of self expression… with no worry about rules.
Well, that’s what Color Me Thrifty is all about.
Creating projects that we want to create in our own way.
Not the way that anyone else tells us we’re supposed to, and not the way that’s trendy and hot at any particular moment, but the way that brings a smile to our faces and joy to our hearts… while doing it in a budget-friendly way.
Here are some of my most popular projects.

I’ve always loved color, and I’ve been repurposing, upcycling, and DIYing for over 30 years. I’ve learned a lot along the way, but I’m still learning… always.
After all, isn’t life just one big DIY project?
We learn as we go and we do the best we can. Life’s too short to worry about perfection.
I hope I can inspire you to create DIY projects that smile by reusing, repurposing, and reimagining.
If you have any questions or comments I’d love to hear from you.
Be nice to yourself, and laugh out loud every day!! It’s so-o-o good for the soul.
Thanks so much for reading, and until next time…
keep on keepin’ on!
