DIY Decoupaged Floral Earrings Makeover

Decoupaged Floral Earrings Makeover

These decoupaged floral earrings are so easy to create with just a few supplies.

When I shared some decoupaged bracelets a few weeks ago, I got the idea to do some earrings as well.

I found this pair of silver metal earrings at a thrift store for a dollar, and thought they were the perfect candidate for a spring makeover.

For this project I’m using DecoArt Paper decoupage Medium.

The flat back beads on these earrings are plastic, and I assumed they were glued on.

With just a couple of whacks with a hammer they came loose.

They were marked up a bit, but that really doesn’t matter.

I used the plastic beads as a template for my floral stamps.

Putting Together Decoupaged Floral Earrings

adding decoupaged medium to earring

After my pretty pansy stamps were cut out I applied some decoupage medium with a small brush onto the earring.

Once the floral stamp was in place I applied some of the decoupage medium on top.

And then I let them dry.

I didn’t like the bits of white letters that you could see on the left sides of the earring so I filled those in with a green pencil crayon.

And you don’t even notice it.

My floral earrings got three coats of the decoupage medium, letting them dry in between.

This was a very easy project, and it’s a super quick way to give some ordinary earrings a whole new look.

Don’t worry about the cut outs being perfect. No one’s going to be looking at them as close as in this picture.

Don’t have stamps? You can use any floral or other graphics that you love.

  1. This is so pretty!! I assume you could do this with pretty fabric scraps as well? What a great way to repurpose earrings that you are either gifted or find at a really great price! Thank you for the great idea!

  2. So much prettier than the original blue plastic!!! I’m ready to do some decopage!!! You always are an inspiration!

  3. Oh they’re lovely! I’m inspired! I have a lot of jewellery items to upcycle and this would be a great technique to have in my arsenal! have you ever done anything like this using PVA glue?

    1. Thanks Teri! No I’ve never done this with PVA glue, but it might be worth giving it a try with a lesser piece of jewelry for a test.
