Fabulous Finds Friday: One Of My Favorite Finds Ever
I haven’t shared any thrift shop finds in quite a while, but I just found one of my favorite finds ever and I just couldn’t wait to share it with you.
So to celebrate this fabulous find I’m bringing back my thrifted finds posts as Fabulous Finds Friday, which will alternate with What the Heck Is It? every second Friday.
This is as close to thrifted treasure as I think I could ever come, and it makes me so happy. I still can’t believe it found me.
Don’t you love it when you see something and it just screams your name?
Like it knows it was meant just for you, and you really need no convincing because you know it too.
It had me at flowers. 🙂
When I saw it I swear my heart lept, and I felt as giddy as a school girl.
I have no idea of its age, but it has a wonderful patina.
I grabbed it before I even looked at the price because unlike most of the time when the price matters… this time it didn’t matter a bit.
But, guess what?
It was just $6. Crazy, right?
How could something just so right be just $6?
Pixie loves it too!
What can I say, we girls love flowers.
It’s so pretty.
Honestly, I can’t stop looking at it.
The last time I was this excited about a find was when I found this fabulous settee set.
It’s very heavy and it appears to be hand painted.
The flowers and leaves are all metal, and they’re a little flexible so they can be repositioned slightly if need be.
The label on the back says Made in India.
I couldn’t wait to hang it above my dresser in the bedroom.
It reflects my vintage teacup lampshade beautifully.
The mirror itself is so perfect I can hardly stand it. lol.
It’s on a rather large wall, so it could hang on its own.
Or with this large frame surrounding it.
I love it both ways… so what do you think? Alone or framed?
And yes my 3 DIY Christmas trees are still out. They make me happy so they’re staying, at least for the winter.

Thanks so much for reading, and until next time…
keep on keepin’ on!

Oh, that is amazing! I like it both ways, but think the frame is best! Makes your teacup lamp and the mirror appear to be a picture! Great find!! Dona
Thanks Dona! I couldn’t believe my luck when I found it. Pink and purple flowers never looked so good. 🙂
I love it…and love the idea of putting a frame around it…enjoy your treasure.
Thanks very much Pan!
Oh that is gorgeous. It hung in the frame is so creative. Myself have always filled a wall or shelf or countr or table top. With treasures but I’m trying less is more. So i may enough a certain piece more. So thanks for coming by and sharing your fabulous find and how you showcased it. I will deffently use this simply elegant approach.
Kelly 😉
Thanks very much Kelly! It’s fun to put frames around things. It seems to give them a little more importance. 🙂
LoL it should read
So i may enjoy a certain piece more.
Kelly
lol. I knew what you meant. 🙂
Ooo,i love it! in the frame for sure!! now I will look forever for this…lol…hope I get lucky!!
Thanks Sylvia! I didn’t know I needed one until I saw it. I hope you get lucky too! 🙂
Love it framed!
Thanks Linda! I’m leaning that way myself. 🙂
Yes, this is a super duper fabulous find! The pink flowers had you! It looks adorable and so Tuula!
Thanks so much Gail! And purple flowers too! )
I am in love! These floral metal pieces are so pretty! I have two wall candle sconces that are similar to your mirror in my Etsy shop. I wish I had somewhere in my house to hang them. I researched them and they are French Tole ware. You found a real treasure!
Thanks AnnMarie! I remember seeing those sconces in one of your finds posts. So pretty! I’ve never seen anything like this mirror before, and chances are I won’t again. And for $6. Crazy!
I like it framed, but then I’ve always had trouble with the “less is more” thing!
It’s wonderful when a thrifted item is so perfect and makes u so happy!!!!
You did good!!!!!
haha. Me too Linda. I do have trouble editing myself, but I think I agree that the frame is better.
Hey Tuula,
WOW! So jealous! lol That is a wonderful find! Congratulations!
Thanks Patricia! I think the thrifting starts were aligned just right, and I lucked out. 🙂
Oh, how lucky you where to find such a beautiful item. It’s gorgeous. Looks like it might had been an Interior Decorators item at one time
Thanks Colleen! Yes, I do feel very lucky to have found it. It’s one of my favourite things.
I’m going to have to go with framed…especially that frame. Congrats on the lovely find.
Thanks very much Mickie! I think I agree and I’m going to keep it framed. 🙂
Swoon, swoon & quadruple swoon! I love it either way…that is totally gorgeous!
Thanks Florence! I wasn’t lying when I said it was one of my fevourite finds ever. It’s most definitely a keeper. 🙂
Ooooh, what a beauty, Tuula! I love it! Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm!
Thanks very much Cecilia!
OMG!!! That mirror is sooooo pretty!!! I just love it in the frame…makes it stand out and look even more special!! Thanks for sharing…and that teacup lamp…..C U T E!!!
Thanks Karolyn! I’m so lucky to have found it. I’ve never seen anything like it in my neck of the woods, and I probably never will again. I think I’ll be keeping it framed for sure. I think you’re right about it standing out more.
i do believe i would have run to it, even if it meant knocking someone over lol, i have coveted a chandelier similar to this mirror for many years but haven’t ever found one in my price range but if i do my heart would go pitter pat xx
Oh my Chris, if I saw a chandy similar to this mirror I think I might faint. lol. That would be the find of all finds. Good luck to both of us. 🙂
Definitely no frame! It needs its own space for sure; probably on a smaller wall! It’s fabulous! What a find!
Thanks Joyce! It’s a treasure that’s for sure. 🙂
It is so great when you get a deal on something you love. I agree; I love the pink and purple! Framed or not! And it’s the kind of mirror you can use in different places, but it is great as the major decoration on that wall. I often see something I like and say, “I could decorate a room using those colors.” I could with that mirror! Enjoy!
Thanks so much Kathy! It’s the same for me. If this mirror didn’t already go great in my master bedroom it would definitely be the inspiration for a makeover.
ABSOLUTELY STUNNIG, TUULA. THE FRAME …………EXCELLENT TOUCH.
Thank you so much! It was a very lucky find. 🙂
Oh it turned out so pretty
Thanks very much Norma!
