Finds of the Week #27 – Christmas
Although I do find Christmas stuff during the summer months at garage sales this is the time to get out to the thrift stores and flea markets.
I’m always excited when I find vintage Christmas ornaments like these pairs of clip-on mercury glass birds in these great colours.
These are in my etsy shop.
I’ve been on the lookout for pink and victorian like ornaments for the living room tree, like these light pink glass teardrops decorated with white glitter.
They even came with the sweet pink ribbon hangers. Perfect!
These dark pink glass balls are awesome. Not sure of the age, but the smaller ones are marked Hong Kong.
I found a mixed bag of Victorian type ornaments for $1.
I love the skate and the sweet white dress forms will be getting makeovers.
This bunch was in the same bag. Except for the presents these ornaments look to be handmade.
I especially love the ballerina shoes. Aren’t they sweet? So perfect for my pink themed tree.
And a pink tree can always use a few white doves. I got a bag of birds for $1. It included a bunch of little sparrow-like birds too, but they’ll be saved for a summer project.
I couldn’t resist this pink Santa even if he’s not vintage. Check out those beautiful blue eyes. Every Santa should have eyes like that.
This one is just my second pink Santa, but it’s a collection that will be growing in the future.
And I found these fun and fabulous vintage metal stocking stretchers. They’re very large, over 21″ long. I’ve never seen a pair of these in person before. I think they’re pretty cool.
Did you find any awesome Christmas things this week?
Thanks so much for reading, and until next time… keep on keepin’ on.

Thanks Kris! Thrifting at Christmas time is always such fun.
You are a pink magnet! Those hand made ornaments are amazing. You just can’t go wrong with Christmas stuff in my opinion! I’m decorating the house today! Dona
I agree with you Dona! Pink stuff just seems to find me. lol. I hope you had fun decorating. I hope to get some done this weekend. It always kinds sneaks up on me.
I JUST LOVE YOUR POSTS.
Thanks so much Cinny!
DO YOU HAVE ANY ROTTWEILER FIGURES OR ANYTHING RELATED TO THEM. I AM LOOKING FOR STUFF FOR HUBS FOR A GIFT. HE USED TO BREED AND RAISE THEM. THANKS
Sorry Cinny, I have no Rottweiler or even dog things right now. Just haven’t seen any lately. I’ll keep an eye out for them though now that I know that you have an interest in them.
These are great vintage finds, Tuula! And to find pink vintage ornaments this time of year is awesome for your!
Yay! It worked Gail! Now that I’m collecting pink Christmas stuff I seem to see it everywhere. Lucky me!
Great collection of vintage Christmas Ornaments. Love the bird clips and the sock stretchers.
The vintage clip on birds are very cool. I won’t be sad if they don’t sell. I’ll happily keep them. I hope to have a project for the sock stretchers.
I just love all of your Christmas treasures! Those mercury glass birds are so sweet. I found a pair of sock stretchers this summer and I finally found a box of Shiny Brites at Goodwill. The box was not marked so I was so surprised when I got home to see that they were all etched Shiny Brite on the tops. The treasure hunting has slowed way down for me around here but I have three bags of stuff to go through from a girlfriend who is cleaning out her MIL’s farm. Treasures!!
Wow! Shiny Brites? That’s awesome. I’ve only ever found a few of them here. I find lots of vintage ornaments, just not many shiny brites. Have fun going through those bags. Hope you find some treasures.
Great finds, Tuula–love the sock stretchers. Awesome find. Hope you have a great weekend 🙂
Thanks Diana! I’ve always wanted some vintage sock stretchers so now I can cross something off my thrifting list. Now I just have to make something with them. I have a couple of ideas.
I love your Santa and all of your fantastic finds. I am curious to see what you do with your stocking hangers. I have one too!! Have a great weekend Tuula….and maybe even a bit of snow will come your way!!
lol Karen. Can you believe I’m missing the snow? I can’t. lol. It was pretty. The stocking hangers will be an upcoming project.
Hope you have a great weekend too!
Wow I remember we used to have some of those clip on bird ornaments when I was a kid. I see in your store you have Rosette molds too, the we loved making those as kids too – what a fun Christmas trip down memory lane your post has brought!
Thanks Kari! I’m so happy that my post brought back some good memories for you. 🙂
Oh my gosh Tuula! I haven’t seen any posts pop up in my blogg roll on my sidebar and I thought you had taken a break from blogging. I happened to see your comment on Donna’s Quickie’s post and clicked on your name to go to your blog and lo and behold, you have been posting up a storm since I last visited. I have quite a bit of catching up to do. I don’t know why your blog disappeared from my blog roll but I’m sorry. I always enjoy reading and catching up with you. Have a great week! I’m off to try to catch up a little. LOL!
Hey Vicky! I’m so glad you found me. I moved to WordPress a while back so that’s why my posts aren’t showing up in blogger anymore. It’s so nice to hear from you. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!
You had another good day pickin’! The skate and ballet slippers are very cute!
Thanks Sheila! I think so too!
I love finding fun Christmas ornaments at the thrift stores. I went to a yard sale last week and racked up! I need to do a post about my finds…. Love the stuff you’ve been finding! Love the birds, the colorful and the doves! Pretty pretty!
I’ve been lucky this year as I’m finding more vintage stuff than usual. Not sure why, but it’s awesome. I’m selling some and keeping some. Of course, I’m keeping the pink ones. lol.
