Finds of the Week #20

Even though we didn’t go garage saling last weekend I did find some pretty sweet things at the thrift stores this past week.
Like this set of vintage brass candlesticks with finger holders. I think they might be antique actually. I’ll have to do some more research on these.

Antique Brass Candlesticks
The knobs on the side slide up and down to allow you to adjust the height of the inside candle holder.

The candle is inserted and as it burns down it can be raised by loosening the knob, moving the knob up, and then tightening it… until the candle holder reaches just below the top of the candlesticks.

Very cool!

Large glass jars

These 5 large jars were just $1 a piece and are now holding vintage and antique cookie cutters, molds, etc. The jars are a great size at about 10″ tall, and they have snug wooden lids.

Here are  some antique cookie cutters that I found recently.

Antique Card Suit Cookie Cutters

The card suit set is probably from the 30s or 40s.

They have soldered handles on their tops.

Antique Cookie Cutters

Just like the darker ones in this lot.

Vintage Dipping Iron Rosettes

Here’s a set of 3 vintage dripping iron rosettes for making Scandinavian cookies.

Sculpted Wire Copper Box

I’m not sure if this copper sculpted wire box is vintage or not, but I love it. It’s marked E. Cointreau.

Vintage Floral Lazy Susan Cookie Tin

This vintage Made in England lazy susan cookie container is such a wonderful combo of colours.

Wooden Break Board and Rolling Pin

I found a bread board like this one a while back and I’m working on its makeover now. The rolling pin and scarf holder will also be getting makeovers.

Metal Tile Pictures

This decorative metal framed tile set is unmarked, but its idyllic scenes have an English quality to me.

Shabby Chic Wire Triple Vase

And last but not least this very shabby chic triple vase. It’s made of heavy wire and has 3 glass inserts that are still in tact. I’ve never seen anything quite like this. The vases are shaped like vintage soda pop bottles.

Some of these things are already in my Thrifty Rebel Vintage etsy shop and, except for the jars and the wooden pieces, the rest will follow once I’ve finished some research.

Thanks so much for reading and until next time…

keep on keepin’ on!
