My Hardware is Happily Distressed
I’m so excited to say that I finished my guest room triple dresser makeover yesterday. Woo hoo!! I thought I’d show you what I did to the hardware first.
It was sooo simple.
Here’s what the hardware looked like. I thought about taking it to the thrift store some time ago because it was very dated, and you couldn’t see the great details.
But I decided I should save a few pennies and use it if I could. So I spray painted all the hardware with a lovely white paint and primer combo to see if I liked the way it looked.
And I did… but it still needed something more. So I pulled out the sandpaper (not sure what grit it was, I just used what I had on hand) and distressed it a bit, and then dry brushed it with Caribbean blue paint.
I’m sooo loving the blue… and how easy was that? Â You can still see bits of the gold coming through. I did this to all the hardware, and I’ll show you how it looks on the dresser on Wednesday.
Thanks so much for reading and stay tuned!!
Very pretty. Such a nice difference.
That sure is beautiful, Tuula! Can't wait to see the total finished look!
I love the way those turned out. Great job.
Those turned out awesome! I pinned it to my furniture makeovers board! Nice job Tuula!
I am always happily distressed so of course I love what you did to the hardware. I picked up a basket of pulls this weekend and this treatment would be great for them. My heart skipped a beat when I read the first few lines of this post. I thought you had finished the guest room!
Awesome! Great job 🙂 Love the blue too! Autumn greetings from Australia♥ ~Pernilla
