My Pink and Girly Christmas Tree

Christmas is just a few days away. Yay! I finally got some half decent pics of my girly tree. This was no easy feat with the bad lighting in the living room and my kind of getting on in years camera.

I’m so lucky to have the living room tree to decorate to my heart’s content. John jokingly calls it the girly tree, and I’m perfectly happy with that.

I love having my own girly tree! 🙂

The furry snowball looking garland is actually a faux rabbit fur scarf that I thrfited last winter for $1. It was about six feet long and four balls across. I cut between all the balls and ended up with a garland that is almost 25 feet long.

It’s one of my favourite things on the tree, and I’ve been looking for another one, or two or three, ever since.

It’s not perfect or fancy, and that’s ok with me because neither am I. Everything on my tree is either thrifted or made by me, except the lights. I added a few more things after I took the first pics, and I like to tinker throughout the season just for fun.

Because of our four feline friends we don’t hang much near the bottom, and there are only a few glass things on the tree… the vintage pink teardrops and the pearl dandies. Ornaments sometimes end up being used as kittie toys. lol. But who can blame them. So many dangly thingies. lol.

Thank you so much for reading. I appreciate it more than you know.  I wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and all the best for the New Year… and until next time…

keep on keepin’ on!

Merry Christmas Tuula. I love your tree and immensly enjoy your Thrifty Rebel Vintage stuff. My resolution for next year is to seek out some new places to go thrifting and try and find the amazing things you do.

    1. Merry Christmas Diane! I’m so happy that you’re enjoying my blog. I have to say that I’m pretty lucky with the thrift stores in my area because they still price themselves like thrift stores rather than gift stores. I wish you happy thrifting in 2017. 🙂

  7. OH! That garland is to die for!! That’s a tree after my own heart…..one that is totally YOURS…..or mine, in my case. My kitchen tree is mine…..food oriented ornaments. Including a PURPLE glass eggplant ornament I just got this year! Merry Christmas, my friend! Dona

    1. YOUR tree sounds fabulous Dona! I’d love to do a kitchen themed tree, maybe next year. Merry Christmas to you my friend, and happy thrifting in 2017. 🙂

  8. Hi Tuula,
As usual I love all your goodies, especially your girly tree. But I have to say I absolutely love your repurposed faux rabbit scarf turned tree garland. Love the look, the texture it adds to the tree, and that you repurposed it. It is adorable. Did you cut it up and make the round pom poms yourself or were they already shaped in that form ? In any case, it is fabulous. Merry Christmas to you and your family and Happy New Year.

    1. Thanks Judy! The faux rabbit fur scarf came with the pom poms as they are. They were all attached by cording and were 4 pom poms across. All I had to do was cut the cording in a way that kept the garland continuous. It was a lot easier than that sounds. I hope to find a few more scarves for the tree next year. I’m on the hunt for them. Merry Christmas to you and your family, and a very Happy 2017.

      1. Thanks Tuula for the response. I’m definitely going to be on the lookout for anything remotely similar. HaHa…..I think it’s so cute the way you’ve repurposed it. You are so creative. Can’t wait to see your creations in the new year. Judy

  9. We are in sync this Christmas, I too have a pink Christmas tree. My first pink tree. I’m posting about it tomorrow.

    1. Love that you’ve done a pink themed tree too Sharon. I started with a small tree in the bedroom a few years ago and it has grown into the living room tree for the last two seasons. It’s so fun to decorate a girly tree!

  10. I adore this tree! The rabbit “fur” garland is perfect!

    1. Thanks so much Debbie! Now if I could only find a few more of them. Maybe for next year.

  11. Your tree is beautiful. I especially like the Santa on top. Merry Christmas!!!

    1. Thanks Gloria! I had a hard time finding a pink Santa, and then out of the blue I found two. The other one is too small for the big tree, but maybe a little one in the future. Merry Christmas to you!

    1. Thanks Karen! Merry Christmas to you!
