Quick & Easy Angel Ornaments from Tassels
How to Create Easy Angel Ornaments from Tassels
From December 1st to December 23rd I’m sharing three Christmas projects per week, for Twelve Days of Christmas Projects.
Welcome to Day Two!
You can find links to the other projects at the end of this post.
Creating repurposed angels is always a fun part of Christmas for me, and they can be made out of so many things like this book angel that I made a few years ago.

Like these thrifted silk tassels that I found in a small bag of eight for five dollars. Even thought I saw their future as angels right away, the price was a little steep for this thrifty gal. So I didn’t buy them the first time I saw them.
I told myself that if they were still there the next weekend then I was meant to buy them.
So the next weekend I went back to the same thrift store and… guess what?
They were still there. Hallelujah!
I’m only using three for this project, so I’ll keep the other five for a someday future project.
Including the 4 inch hanger, the tassels are about 9 Inches long.
Creating wings for the tassel angel ornaments

The first thing my angels need was wings. Christmas sheet music is always a good idea for this, like with these salt & pepper angels.
For these wings I’m folding the sheet music, accordion-style.

I tied them in the middle with jute twine.
Before I add the wings to the angels they need to be dressed up a bit.
Dressing up the tassel angel ornaments

This is a great way to use up some bits and pieces of whatever ribbons and lace that you have.
I just glued them on with a couple dabs of hot glue.

Then I added some pretty pink millinery flowers.

Then the wings get glued on the back.
Easy peasy,
Hanging the DIY repurposed tassel angels

When it comes to making angels a halo is a must.

So a little pink beading is all that was needed.

Again, it just took a couple dabs of hot glue.

I’m a pink-loving girl, but these repurposed tassel angels could easily be customized to match any Christmas tree colors and style.
They would also be super cute dressing up a gift.
Supplies needed for DIY angel ornaments from tassels
- Silk tassels
- Christmas sheet music
- miscellaneous ribbons/lace
- miscellaneous flowers
- beading
- hot glue gun
- hot glue sticks

These angel ornaments were so easy to create and only took about 30 minutes.
They’ll look great with my cream horn angel ornaments.
I hope this project has inspired you to create some quick and easy angel ornaments.
It would be greatly appreciated if you would pin this project to your favorite Pinterest board, and also share it with your friends.
