Quick & Easy Upcycled Summer Purse Wreath

This summer purse wreath has got to be one of the quickest and easiest projects ever. And you get a lot of wow for very little time and effort.

You only need a few things to create this fun summer wreath; a cool purse, and some artificial flowers in whatever summer colors you love.

A few years ago I created a fun straw purse fall door decor project, and I’ve wanted to do a summer version ever since. And the time finally came.

I was recently at a thrift store dropping off some donations and I made a quick run around the store. When I saw this fabulous bright blue canvas purse for just $2 I had to bring it home. It’s kind of medium sized, somewhere between a purse and a tote.

Supplies needed for this project

• Thrifted purse/tote
• variety of artificial florals
• newspaper for stuffing

I stuffed the purse with some newsprint flyers so that it would both hold its shape and the flowers in place.

I have a collection of thrifted artificial flowers and I pulled some whites and pinks. Flowers of all kinds can often be found at thrift stores here for a dollar of two a bunch.

To create a summer purse wreath all you have to do is stuff the flowers into the purse in a way that looks good to you. This really couldn’t be easier, and such a fun look. And the purse isn’t damaged in any way, so it can be used for its actual purpose any time in the future.

Here’s my easy summer purse wreath on my yummy yellow bedroom door. I love how the blue pops against the yellow.

I tucked the front handle inside the purse because it hangs perfectly with just the back handle. And it doesn’t get in the way of the pretty flowers.
