Vintage Repurposed Drawer Organizers
So moving right along with my craft room reorganization… the next thing I decided to take on was my desk drawer, which is quite large but not very high.
It had pretty much become a messy everything drawer.
I know we all have one of those, right? lol.
I really never liked these thrifted plastic organizers.
They’re totally functional but they’re just not my thing.
I seriously needed to find some drawer organizers that were more me, so I dove deep into my bakeware stashes.
How to create muffin pan drawer organizers
And this is what I came up with.
I have many different sizes and shapes of vintage muffin pans in my bake ware stash and it turns out they make great drawer organizers.
After a few attempts, I was able to find some that fit together beautifully to fill the large drawer.
I keep the things I use most often at the front of the drawer… like my wind chime making supplies, penny nails, small drill bits etc. You pretty much need to pull the drawer completely out to get to the back so I keep lesser used things back there.
I really love how my drawer looks now, and I’m so happy to be actually using some of my vintage bake ware collection. The plastic containers will be going back to the thrift store, and I’m sure they’ll have no trouble finding a new home.

Thanks so much for reading, and until next time…
I like your Drawers and have used my old muffin pans for such on my work table. There is nothing better than the old tin muffin tins.
Great idea
Thanks Janice. I agree with you. I love my vintage muffin pans. All vintage bakeware actually.
Wow!!! I love this idea and don’t know why I never thought of it! Those pans are a perfect fit!!! You go girl! You are going to be SO organized!!! Dona
Thanks so much Dona! I’m getting there… slowly but surely. lol.
This is a great idea and one I would use if I had a bunch of muffin tins I wasn’t using. I’ll be on the lookout.
Thanks Tina! I do bake muffins but I have more than enough pans to spare. I tend to not use vintage ones for actual baking. I love to use them for other things.
I just got a new tip…from you! Fabulous idea. Although organizing my drawers is pretty low on my list considering all the closets and attic and basement I have to purge!
Yikes! It sounds like you have a lot more work to do than me. I’m tackling one craft room area at a time and am slowly getting through it. This is a complete overhaul so it’s taking longer than I thought it would. Oh well, doesn’t it always. lol.
Tuula, love these cupcake pans repurposed for organization!! They look so cool in the drawer and fit perfectly!! I think I’m going to be on the lookout for some pans to organize too. Great idea!!
Thanks so much Keri! I do love my new drawer. I like to open it just to look at it. lol.
Great organizing idea! How nice that you can dedicate a room to your crafting.
Thanks Sheila! Yes, I’m very lucky to have a room all to myself.
I love this idea and it looks good too! Thanks, Tuula, for sharing at Talk of the Town.
Thanks Betsy!
Hi, so nice. Where can I see your wind chimes? Love them!
Thanks Barbara! If you look in my garden gallery on my home page you’ll see different ones there. I sell chimes in my etsy shop but I’m all sold out at the moment. After I get my craft room back in order I’ll be making more and putting them in my shop.
I’m impressed you found muffin tins to fit the drawer exactly! And here’s another creative use of muffin tins: A coworker brought one to sample the chili at our office’s annual chili cookoff. Ha! Cracked me up.
That is too funny, and a great idea!
