Snow! Snow! Snow!

It’s a winter wonderland here today.

It’s been snowing on and off for three days.

Last Wednesday we had no snow at all.

On Thursday I didn’t go to work because of snowsqualls.

It really hasn’t been that bad a winter so far, so why am I sooo ready for it to be over?

Because I want to be out in the warm sunshine planting flowers in pots on the deck, enjoying the sound of the waterfall, and watching the birds bathe in the pond.

I want to see the pink and white crocuses popping up in the lawn, and smell the scent of the lilacs almost dripping in the spring air.

I want to walk around in bare feet and feel the grass between my toes.

I want to plant tomatoes, cucumbers, and green peppers in our raised vegetable beds. There’s nothing like veggies fresh picked from our own garden.

I promise I won’t complain about the heat or the humidity or the dry and rainless days.

I promise! I promise! You believe me, don’t you?

Wiarton Willie didn’t see his shadow this morning so that means we’re going to have an early spring here in Ontario. Yay!!

I sure hope he’s right!!!

In the meantime I have to say that winter looks absolutely beautiful here today. Especially with a fire in the wood stove and a hot chocolate spiked with some Bailey’s Irish Cream.

  1. Beautiful pictures of snow in your area, but like you, I can't wait for spring. I sure do hope the groundhogs' prediction is accurate!

  2. We have had snow every day for the past few days with more to come. It is pretty, but you just have to keep shoveling 🙂

  3. We have had such a little amount this year, but expecting some tonight after midnight and early a.m. tomorrow. I am over with winter, I usually am by December 22nd. 😉 xo
