Think Pink Monday: Mel from Mellywood’s Mansion

If you’ve been following me for awhile you know that pink is my favourite colour, so while I take a bit of a break I asked a few bloggy friends if they would do some pink guest posts. Let’s just call them the Pink Ladies.

Pink is the word… is the word… is the word.
It’s got groove… it’s got meaning.

This week’s Pink Lady is Mel from Mellywood’s Mansion.

Hey Guys,
I’m Mel and you will usually find me hanging out at my blog Mellywood’s Mansion, please don’t get confused by the name, it’s nothing like Hollywood it’s just a play on my actual name and it is nothing like a mansion, except it has walls, floors and a roof. I’m thrilled to be here at the Thrifty Rebel, whenever I stop by here I pull on my rebel boots and get to work.

Sometimes I think my neighbours know I am going to take their roadside trash. You see I found five of these wooden stools on my neighbour’s front lawn ready for pick up.
Instead of just being thrown on like the rest of the crap these were neatly tied together making it easy to carry 2 at a time. When I asked if I could have them, he smiled like he had been waiting for me and said of course.

I only needed two of them for my craft room so I gave them a couple of coats of chalk paint. They need something else, I was thinking grain sack, but for the life of me I could not get them to line up and it was peeling the paint. So I left them white until further inspiration hits and the paint cures.

Then Tuula invited me to play, inspiration hit and I got the paint out again, TADA pink seats, but even better that, the stools inspired something else that caused my very mild mannered husband Jules to freak out!!

I’ll be posting that down the track, so if you want to find out what horrified him you’ll need to follow along at any of these fine places

Or hop over to the blog and check out what else is happening in my new craft room makeover like my fold out workspace. (just click the pictures)

Or try your hand at some knitting.

Or check out my mad obsession with Sesame Street (okay it was for my little kids).

Thanks for having me Tuula and thanks to you guys for reading.

Mel xo

Thanks a million Mel. What a fabulous makeover! I just love your pink stools… and how awesome that they were freebies. I still adore those pink boots.

If you don’t know Mel you should really pop over to Mellywood’s Mansion and check it out. Be sure to say hi from me. She’s loads of fun and very talented too.

Please come back next Monday to see who the next Pink Lady is.

In the meantime…. Think Pink!
