Thrifting at the Dump

Oh yes… I said the dump. There… I admitted it. lol.

I’ll thrift anywhere I can, and believe me when I say that I know that one person’s trash is another person’s treasure.

But check out these floral details. How could this be anything but treasure?

I’m in love with the pink roses…

and the cheerful blue forget-me-nots.

If you look closely you can see the veining in the leaves that my ancient digital camera doesn’t pick up very well.

Maybe I’m an old fashioned girl, but I’ve always loved flowers and I couldn’t believe that I found this at the dump at my mom’s cottage. There’s a building there where things can be left for others to take.

How awesome is that? I wish our local dump had a building like that.

And even more awesome is that there were two lamps… a perfectly matching pair..

And they work! That’s always a bonus. lol.

They’re made out of some kind of ceramic/porcelain material, and luckily there’s not a chip in sight. All they need is some cleaning and a little TLC. The right lampshades will update them, and they’ll be perfect for the eventual master bedroom makeover.

Freebies are the best aren’t they?

Thanks so much for reading!

  4. Pink and green and floral – made for you. Love the idea of the free room at the dump. Shopping is shopping – no matter where you do it!

  5. That's a great idea! We actually have something similar to that near our house, but we've never taken advantage of it.

These lamps remind me of some we had in our bedroom but one was with blue flowers and the other pink. So guess which was on my side of the bed?

  6. I can hardly wait to see what you do with these pretty lamps!!! Great score!! We have one in our nearest town too called take it or leave it. People actually sit and wait there all day….I guess I would too if I didn't have to work. I once took a load of stuff there to clean up and ended coming back home with even more…hehe
