What The Heck Is It? #21
Do you love cool tool thingies?
I have to admit that I have a weakness for vintage tools of all kinds, and I think it might be because my mom and dad were always big DIYers.
I can remember them both working with all kinds of tools when I was a little girl, and now all those tools are vintage.
We weren’t raised with any boy/girl boundaries, which I have to say has been so helpful to me throughout my life. I was encouraged to use a hammer just as much as a sewing needle.
I still use a hammer often, but rarely a sewing needle. lol.
Every once in a while I’ll find a tool that I’ve never seen before.
Like this week’s 50 cent mystery item.
It’s a good weight for its size, and has a worn wooden handle.
As you can see it’s marked M Tools 280 Made in USA.
It measures about 5″ wide by 2 3/4″ deep by 3 1/4″ high, and it has a 1/2″ lip on one side.
It’s pretty worn so whatever it is it’s been doing its job for a long time.
I’m thinking the fact that I don’t know what it is probably means I don’t need it to function for its intended purpose.
I guess I’ll find that out for sure once I know what it is.
Call me crazy, but I always like to know the intended purpose of somethingΒ before I think about repurposing it as something else.
So I’m really hoping someone can enlighten me. π
What the heck is it? Any ideas?
Thanks so much for reading, and until next time…
keep on keepin’ on!

Looks like something that smooths the edge of something. Because of the way the one side bends down. But that’s just a guess. I’ll bet the next person that comments will know! I’ll just see if I’m close! Dona
Good guess Dona! Thanks. π

I love ebay! One can find anything!!!
Colleen sure can! π Me? Not so much. lol.
Thanks Colleen! Thanks so much for finding it. π Now I can figure out what to re-use it for.
you’ve got some smart resourceful readers, Tuula! hardly an hour after you post, you have an answer! A finishing tool was going to be my guess, but I’m way too slow in the morning! Can’t wait to see how you repurpose it! Holding it like in picture 4, I can see a stand for a quote, recipe or picture….even something decoupaged on it permanently….
Thanks Linda! You and I are on the same wavelength for repurposing this thingy. It’ll even be a surprise to me what I decide to do with it. π
Itβs a concrete finishing tool.
Thanks very much Linda! Now that I know what it is, I can decide how to repurpose it.
I have one too and use it (as in picture 4) to hold my business cards!
What an awesome idea! π
