Wine Caddy Makeover for Paint Supplies
I don’t know about you, but my smaller paint brushes are usually all over the place. I really wanted and needed something that I could keep them in, on my desk, so they’re always handy. I like the things I use regularly to be visible, and at my fingertips whenever I need them.
But, as always, it had to be pretty too… girlified.
Enter this $2 wine caddy. I thought it was perfect, but the black wrought iron just wasn’t workin’ for me.
I spray primed it with Tremclad primer and spray painted it with 2 coats of a fabulous pink, one of my favourite colours.
To decorate my new pink caddy I raided my doily stash. I just love using doilies in new ways.
I cut out some flower shapes and added them to the caddy with Mod Podge. First I applied it to the back, making sure they were completely covered. Once they were dried on the caddy I gave them a couple of light coats, getting into every nook and cranny. I did light coats because I didn’t want to clog up the spaces. I wanted the pink to show through.
I’ll be keeping the leftover doilies just in case I need them for something in the future. You never know.
I found these two large glasses at the thrift store for 50 cents each. They fit into the spots in the caddy perfectly.
And here it is, nicely pinkified, holding my paint supplies.
Now all my smaller brushes are nice and handy, and I won’t have to go searching for them every time I need one. It’s nice to have some stir sticks handy too.
Thanks so much for visiting! Have a great day!
